about

Hello all,

I wanted the chance to get to express my deep gratitude to
everyone who purchased Starkisser.
I am still shocked and humbled.
Your warm reception of the album has inspired me to keep creating and i am back in the studio again.

I wrote this song after finishing Starkisser. I think it may be some of the leftover embers from the album, or perhaps the start of something new..?

It is about time and reflection, how as you get older and gain more perspective, the most simple and mundane acts of beauty in your surroundings can impact you on such a deeper level than
when you were younger because you don't take as many things for granted.

The net is time and the butterfly being both ourselves and
the vast beauty of life.

The photo for the cover is my at around age 13
at a studio in Denton, TX making music with my family and
friends. A happy time of so much self discovery as a young musician.
There is an essence to this song that reminds me of those days.

LYRICS:

lyrics

Hot wind blowing up the dust; never complain, just adjust.
69 south past the station, there is no concern for my education.
The freedom rang in me like a bell. The top view from the patio swelled.
But wild souls grow so tired that my tree fights to grow higher.

Catch it, catch it, and I'll catch it again.
Butterfly will come back to my hand.
And I will run in the opposite direction.

Catch it, catch it, and I'll catch it again.
Universe, show me what you have planned.
And I will run in the opposite direction.

August came just another summer, and lovers kept their
windows open, used to listen to them laughing, used
to believe that they were truly happy,

Sorrow rang in me like a bell. I've been hiding out in my shell.
But wild souls do grow older; now it's you crying on my shoulder.

Now it's you crying on my shoulder...
Now it's you crying on my shoulder...

Right now, I can't see through the wreckage.
Running from you like I ran out of Texas
The river runs dry.

Sun-bleached town, time is reflected
The butterfly in my net is a pain in my psyche.
a pain in my psyche

The river runs dry. The river runs dry.
A pain in my psyche, a pain in my psyche
